Q. What is the cost for a Grab Lorry?
A. The cost of a Grab Lorry can depend on a number of factors: Firstly the location of the site, therefore always have your post code on hand; secondly the type of material, e.g. Muck, Stone, Clay etc, and finally the amount of material that needs taking away.
Q. How much waste can a Grab Lorry carry?
A. The amount a Grab Lorry can take depends on if it is a 8 Wheel or 6 Wheel Grab Lorry. The larger 8 Wheelers can carry approximately 16ton whilst the smaller 6 Wheelers can carry approximately 12ton.
Q. How far can the crane on a Grab Lorry reach?
A. The distance a Grab Lorry can reach ranges between 6 to 8 Metres.
Q. Where should I put the waste material?
A. The waste should be piled in an open area where the Lorry can pull alongside it . There should be no overhead power lines, telephone cables or overhanging tree branches.
Q. How long will it take to load a Grab Lorry?
A. Dependent on the amount of material to be taken away and how it has been piled, the amount of time to load should take somewhere between 15 -20 minutes.
Q. Can a Grab Lorry load over a fence or a wall?
A. Yes as long as the fence is no higher than 6ft and our operator is able to position the vehicle close alongside the fence or wall. The lorry needs enough room to extend the supporting leg, be on firm ground and without causing an obstruction to vehicles or pedestrians.

A. We can only take Muck, Soil, Rubble , Brick & Concrete and certain types of green waste.
Q. What sort of waste can't the Grab Lorry take?
A. We cannot take any material away that has any Asbestos, Wood, Plastic, Plasterboard, Mixed Green Waste and General Domestic/Commercial Waste contained within it.
Q. What information do you require?
A. We require a full site address and a contact name and number. We will also need to know the type of material and where it has come from. We will also need to be assured that there is good access and the Grab Lorry can position alongside the material. We cannot grab waste over the front of the Cab or behind the lorry.
